Terry is the President of forwardleader, a Christian non-profit organization which he co-founded with his wife Cheryl in 2014. The mission of forwardleader is to “equip and empower your spiritual growth so you can walk in an audacious relationship with God: a relationship that is extremely bold, daring, recklessly brave, unrestrained and uninhibited.” Terry teaches with a prophetic gift bringing new perspectives and revelation through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit to accomplish the impossible, break the status quo, and to shift paradigms.
Experienced strategist and proven leader with 25+ years of providing strategic planning and implementation, initiating and delivering sustained results, revitalizing underperforming departments, and developing collaborative teams in fast-paced environments.
Terry was born in Nashville Tennessee and grew up in the surrounding area until age 11 when his family moved to Southern California. During his high school years, he was given great opportunities to begin his leadership journey by mentors who saw in him what he could not see in himself; something he would later have a passion for doing for others.
When Terry graduated High School, he joined the United States Army and was trained in the field of logistics, transportation, and administration. He was stationed at Fort Story and Fort Eustis in Virginia spending time in Egypt, Somalia, and deployed to Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm.
After serving in the military in 1994, Terry began working in procurement for a leading California recreational vehicle manufacturer. Over the next 16+ years he would work for one of the largest recreational vehicle manufacturers in America, one of the most innovative specialized RV manufacturers, a leading distributor of products to the RV industry, and the leading innovative modular home building company in the 11 Western States. Each position brought its own challenges, education, and experiences through involvement as an integral part of the executive leadership teams and a leader of cross-organizational teams.
In 2010, he left the world of manufacturing to join the full-time staff at a church he and his family helped plant in 2005. Terry served faithfully in this church from 2005 through 2012 when God directed him and his wife in a new direction. Terry was ordained as an elder serving in an executive pastor role directing the business and financial affairs of the church, writing curriculum, leading hundreds of volunteers, and many other roles building a vibrant community of believers who were passionate about God and their community.
Since 2015, Terry is back in manufacturing with a start-up company bringing leadership and management with the intent to build a strong company poised to be one of the leading producers of Recreational Vehicles in the Western United States. When he is not working during the week, he teaches, speaks, writes, and builds teams to see the kingdom of God expanded through churches and businesses on the weekends.
Terry has a BS degree in Liberal Arts from Northern Arizona University and an AA in Liberal Arts from the College of Western Idaho. Terry is currently working on his MS in Management and Leadership from Western Governors University.
For 27 years Terry has been married to his best friend and wife Cheryl. They live in Boise Idaho where they have five amazing children–four sons and one daughter–who they are extremely proud of, have an amazing son-in-law, are new grandparents to Oliver Edward, have an Australian Shepard named Sophie, a Toy Australian Shepard named Orion, and cats named Comet, Aurora, and Nova. Terry is an avid golfer where his love for the game is bigger than his ability to play the game.
