Why should Mens Ministry be done by men? This is one of the most pivotal questions that requires an answer if we are to succeed in changing men in our culture. Men must move forward with a clear understanding of who men are at the core and why we as men must be the ones to reclaim it.
Culture has been allowed to strip from us true manhood and replace it with an image of a man that is weak, of no value, and subservient to the real purpose for which man was designed. We are not talking about dominance over spouses, families, employees, or church members, but about regaining respect and prominence to man’s true purpose and having man portrayed correctly in culture.
The very nature of our culture is due to the fallen state of man. Through Adam’s sin, we have inherited a spirit of domination; a skewed attempt to have the dominion that we were created for. Men and women were made in the image of God, but at the core, we were given different characteristics of God that define who we are. The man was given strength, truth, justice, and courage. The woman was given love, healing and nurturing. These different characteristics were meant to compliment each other. Together these core strengths bring unity in dominion over the earth, not each other. Because we have allowed culture to shape us, we have lost the essence of what we were created for.

Of course, she can, but how effective will she be in teaching him how to be a man? A woman resonates from her inner core characteristics that edify manhood, not instruct him in it. She is better to teach womanhood because women share the same inner core characteristics. Likewise, men should teach other men. This dynamic of pouring likeness into likeness yields a clear understanding of the image of God that we were created to be. The more men that are involved in Men’s Ministry, the more effective it will be.
