Are you needing God to move in your life? Are you expecting a miracle that only He can perform? Has the subject of your faith remained absent? I can relate. My family and I have been going through a time of faith-building and learning to lean on His strength and provision. We have been in desperate need of a breakthrough in several areas of our lives. This is the time when faith must remain strong and true.

There is different reasons why something like a miracle is hindered, faith gone unanswered for a period of time, and breakthrough not experienced. Breakthrough is defined by Merriam-Webster an offensive thrust that penetrates and carries beyond a defensive line in warfare; an act or instance of breaking through an obstacle. Breakthrough means that something is hindered by an act of war, or upheld by an obstacle.  Many times we can get in the way of our breakthrough, other times there is something spiritual hindering what it is we are expecting. The latter scenario must, and can only be, attained through spiritual warfare.

In 2013, the theme for our church was ‘Break Out’ or ‘Breakthrough’. It was amazing to hear of the faithfulness of God in people’s lives as many experienced breakthroughs. Each time I heard a story of how God moved and made the impossible happen, my faith and expectation were increased to see God do something in my life. The scripture from the message ‘Lord of the Breakthrough’ came from 1 Chronicles 14:11.

1 Chronicles 14:11 (AMP) “So [Israel] came up to Baal-perazim, and David smote [the Philistines] there. Then David said, God has broken my enemies by my hand, like the bursting forth of waters. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim [Lord of breaking through].

I wanted to share with you an awesome principle I think is applicable to each and every person’s life; if they want to experience a breakthrough in a circumstance that seems impossible:

IT’S NOT ENOUGH TO JUST PRAY, BELIEVE, AND THINK GOOD THOUGHTS.

This message is still personal for me as I am still believing for my breakthrough. I am learning that I must speak to the mountain, that impossible circumstance. Not just about it, but to it.

Mark 11:23″ For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

– We need to stop praying for things that we need to be speaking to
– There is power in declaration
– When you speak to the mountain, it is not in your own authority but God’s

When you dwell on circumstances you give power to them. When you decide to declare and speak to those circumstances in the authority that you have been given by God, you set the atmosphere for a breakthrough. David likened God’s power to water which can be very powerful. Today begin to declare the faithfulness of God and speak to that obstacle believing for your breakthrough.
