Exodus 33:9 “And it came to pass, when Moses entered the tabernacle, that the pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the Lord talked with Moses.”

As a church, we have been asked to do our devotions from the book of Exodus chapter 33 over the past several weeks as we have gone through the series, “Refusing Substitutes”. When I came across this verse, the thing that intrigued me the most was that “the Lord talked with Moses”. When Moses met with the Lord, it was not one way communication, but a two-way conversation between Moses and the Lord. Verse 11 says that “the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to a friend”. It was a sharing of thoughts and ideas, life and issues, and a time of transparency where hearts were shared and not hidden from each other. When  you spend time with the Lord, which side of the conversation are you on? Is it one sided? Is it a conversation? Are you open to sharing your heart and allowing the Lord to share His heart?

Challenge: Allow your time with the Lord to be conversation and a sharing of hearts. Open you heart and begin to communicate with the Lord on a consistent, daily basis and you will find that the Lord will speak!
